The Department of Civil Engineering, Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management Bhatkal has organised a 3-hour event on pothole fixing today, November 15, 2022 under the banner of its student forum Continua. Potholes from three different locations present on Anjumanabad Road to the NH-66 Anjuman College Cross were identified and fixed by Civil Engineering students. A group of 40 students, from 2nd year to final year Civil Engineering students have worked under the supervision of Prof. Vidyadhar N., Manohar B., Pratibha G and Prof. Zuhair Hussain along with instructors Sadanand M.G, Pandu Naik, Mohan Naik and Manjunath D.B. The students have worked under 4 different teams, namely, the concrete mixing, transportation, concrete placement and finishing, and traffic diversion teams. The entire event of pothole filling was guided by the Head of the Department, Prof. Chidanand Naik.
The main objective was to create awareness among Civil Engineering students about pothole-related road accidents and the importance of pothole fixing. Students have carried out different processes related to road maintenance, starting from concrete mixing to finishing jobs. The event was successful. Principal Dr. K. Fazlur Rahman and Registrar Prof. Zahid Kharuri thanked students for taking up such an important CSR activity that is helpful to the public.
