The Inaugural ceremony of the Civil Engineering students Technical forum, Continua, was held today. Shri Pavankumar Gaji, Asst. Engineer, PWD-Subdivision-Bhatkal, was invited as the chief guest for the inaugural function and resource person for the technical talk on “PWD Contracting and Licensing: A Practical Approach.” The inaugural event was presided over by Principal Dr. Fazlur Rehman. The Registrar, Prof. Zahid Kharuri was present during the inaugural ceremony. The inauguration program was followed by a technical talk. Er. Pavankumar explained the procedure of getting a PWD license, the classes of contractors, the procedure of bidding, getting approval, the release of the amount, running bills, E-procurement, etc. Students from RNS Polytechnic College were also present, along with senior faculty member Smt. Savita, during the technical talk. After the event, Polytechnic students visited the Civil Engineering Department, where NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) on concrete was demonstrated.
