A technical visit was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering on 21st July 2022. A team of 37 students from 2nd and 3rd year Civil Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Pratibha V. Gaonkar, Prof. Vidyadhar N. and Prof. Chidanand Naik visited a Water Treatment Plant of TMC Bhatkal.
The main objective was to create an awareness among Civil Engineering students about water treatment process. Students observed various stages involved in the water treatment process namely, Step Aeration unit, Flash Mixer, Clariflocculator, Tube Settler, Sand Filter, Clorination (Disinfection) units. Prof. Pratibha V. Gaonkar gave complete explanation about the entire process. The visit was successful and students acquired useful technical information about the water treatment process.
