Workshop on Recent Developments in Telecommunication

‘Technovate – The ECE Students Forum’ of of Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management was inaugurated on 8th October 2016 at 9:45 am in the Seminar Hall-1. The inaugural session was presided by Dr. M.A. Bhavikatti, Principal, AITM, Bhatkal. The inaugural was followed by the workshop which was divided into two sessions. The resource person of the workshop Mr. C.S. Hanchinal, Senior Divisional Engineer, RTTC (BSNL), Mysore graced the ceremony as the Chief Guest of the function.

The ceremony began with an invocation by Mr. Abu Bakr of pre-final year ECE. Ms. Rabia Indikar and Ms. Prateeksha Naik of final year were the Masters of Ceremony. The final year students then escorted the dignitaries to the dais. Prof. T. M. P. Rajkumar, Head of ECE Dept., welcomed the gathering and gave an insight into the activities of the department and its students’ forum. The introduction of the Chief Guest Mr. C.S. Hanchinal was done by Aithal Preeti of Final year ECE. Technovate e-Newsletter for the year 2016-17 was released during the occasion by Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Bhavikatti. In his presidential address he appreciated the department for organizing such an event and advised the students to form an innovative club including new projects and ideas.

The top scorers Mithun Naik of VI semester with 77.33% and Geeta J Naik with 85% were felicitated during the program. Both secured first place in their respective batches. The chief guest Mr. C.S. Hanchinal addressed the gathering. He highlighted the importance of organizing such events which bridge the gap between the industry and academics. The Vice Principal Prof. H. M. Phalachandra emphasized on the implementation of newer associations among students. The president of the function then presented the chief guest with the momentum. The student coordinator of Technovate Mr. Mohiddin Saif Ruknuddin presented the Vote of Thanks.

The inaugural session was followed by two sessions of workshop by Mr. C.S. Hanchinal on ‘Recent Developments of Telecommunication’. He covered the topics including switching system and mobile communication system. He presented the students with the 4G Overview. He also explained the differences between the generations and also the evolution of 5G. The students were greatly benefited by the talk.

TECHNOVATE – The Electronics and Communication Engineering students’ association was formed in the academic year 2005-06 with an aim of achieving all round development of the student community, exposing them to the latest technologies and trends in the industries by conducting various seminars and other personality development activities that fill in the confidence to take on the world outside.
